Elizabeth Taylor Inspired Faux Peregrina Pearl Earrings
The legend of \"La Peregrina\", the famous pearl of the Spanish crown, has a history nearly as rich as the women who wore it. It traveled through Spanish, English, and French royalty before Richard Burton purchased it for Elizabeth Taylor in 1969. The couple was famous for their extravagent jewelry acquisitions, and La Peregrina was no exception. Burton valued it for its historical significance, while Taylor was intoxicated with the breathtaking beauty of the pearl. Liz then commissioned Cartier to create a vintage style collar necklace of diamonds, rubies, and pearls to display La Peregrina. A few years later, the couple\'s lawyer and close family friend, Aaron Frosch, gifted Taylor with pearl and diamond Bulgari earrings to match her infamous necklace. She wore them in the 1973 film Ash Wednesday. Our faux earrings are crafted from sterling silver, and feature a bezel set CZ ruby amid pave set \"flames\" of faux diamonds. The leverback style helps to keep them secure, which is essential for the 10 mm faux pearl that dangles from each earring!
